Dear Members,

As we navigate through 2024, I wanted to take a moment to update you on some of the challenges we've faced with our publications this year. As many of you know, we welcomed Tom Hogan as our new editor at the beginning of the year. Tom has brought a wealth of experience and passion to our team, and we are grateful for his contributions.

Unfortunately, Tom has recently been dealing with some health issues that have impacted our publication schedule of the Prospector. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to release Volume 23, Issue 3 on time. We understand the importance of these publications to our members and the disappointment this delay may have caused.

To help us navigate this period, we have asked Dave Lotz, our past editor, to step in as interim editor. Dave's expertise, dedication and familiarity with our railroad history makes him an excellent fit to help us get back on track.

Despite these challenges, we are committed to ensuring that our publications continue to meet the high standards you expect. The upcoming Prospector (Volume 23, Issue 3&4) will be a combined issue, incorporating the content that was started for Volume 23, Issue 3 along with new material that was being planned for the 4th quarter issue. Our goal is to have this combined issue ready for you as soon as possible, though it may take a bit longer than initially planned.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. The strength of our society lies in our community, and together, we will overcome these hurdles. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to preserving our railroad heritage.
