Atlas announced a new run of its EMD GP7 Locomotive with a scheduled release last month. Introduced in 1949, the Electro-Motive 1500hp GP-7 combined the machinery of the F7 with a hood-type car body that offered high visibility and easy engine access. The GP-7 was used in pulling every conceivable type of train and was sometimes substituted for part of a set of cab units.
The new fully assembled and ready-to-run locomotive is in accurate D&RGW painting and printing that comes in three road numbers 5105, 5106 & 5111. It features a highly detailed body with die-cast metal chassis/sill unit, fuel tank, metal pilots and detailed die-cast trucks. Operating diesel exhaust, all metal handrails and stanchions and grab irons are included. The model comes with unpowered and powered options. Powered models feature twin flywheel-equipped motors, directional golden-white LEDs, with a minimum radius curve: 36".
