Athearn HO & N Scale D&RGW ACF 2970 Covered Hopper

Athearn has announced a new run of HO & N scale ACF 2970 Covered Hopper models in D&RGW, scheduled for release in May 2025. The D&RGW road numbers for this run will be 15993 and 15995 for single cars, with an MSRP of $49.99 in HO and $31.99 in N scale. Additionally, there will be a 3-pack with road numbers 15996, 15997, and 15999, priced at $124.99 in HO and $79.99 in N scale.

The ready-to-run model features photo-etched metal roof walks, detailed outlets, round hatches, and separately applied brake gear, including brake wheel, brake cylinder, valve, and air reservoir with wire brake plumbing. It also has body-mounted McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers, factory-applied wire grab irons and stirrup steps, precision-machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, screw-mounted trucks, and is weighted for optimum performance. Athearn HO Scale HO PC&F 26' Tight Bottom Ore Car, D&RGW Legendary Liveries

Athearn has announced its latest “What if?” fantasy schemes in an HO scale D&RGW PC&F 26’ ore car, which is scheduled to be released in April 2025. The model will be available in D&RGW road number 7707 for single cars, priced at $31.99. Additionally, there will be two 4-packs available with road numbers 7733, 7745, 7763, 7771 and 7711, 7726, 7742, 7772, each priced at $124.99.

The ready-to-run model features removable ore load, McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers, precision machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and is weighted for optimum performance.

Rapido Trains HO scale D&RGW EMD SD7 Locomotive

Rapido Trains Inc. has announced the release of EMD SD7  locomotives in D&RGW, with four road numbers 5300, 5301, 5303, and 5304, slated for release in 2025. The SD7 was General Motors Electro-Motive Division’s first foray into 6-axle power. The “SD” stood for Special Duty, while the 7 was carried over from the 4-axle GP7 series. This new series of locomotives provided extra tractive effort spread and weight distribution across the six-axle trucks. Production lasted from May of 1951 to November of 1953. A total of 188 units were built for 17 railroads, from class Is to industrial operations.

The ready-to-run Rapido model features D&RGW specific details with correctly replicated side sill reflectors, short hood forward operation, separate grab irons and handrails, operating cab, headlights, rear lights, white class lights, highly detailed cab interior, correct fuel and water tank arrangements, see-through, etched steps, dynamic-brake hatches. The model will come in both DC/Silent (21-pin DCC Ready) with an MSRP of $239.95 or DC/DCC/ESU LokSound with the all-new “Mo-Power” capacitor, ensuring uninterrupted operation from a momentary loss of track power, with an MSRP of $349.99.
