Image of the cover of the latest Prospector issue featuring two photos of Rio Grande TrainsVolume 22, Number 2 of the Prospector, our professionally produced and beautifully illustrated quarterly magazine featuring the finest work of historians and other experts on all aspects of Rio Grande Railroad was published in Quarter 2 of 2023 calendar year.

The 32 page issue features three articles, two photo essays by Richard Severance, one on the standard gauge “Assault On Solider Summit Westbound” and the second on “Grande Fast Freights – Narrow Gauge Style,” with is a continuance of Rich’s articles covering the eastbound photo essays that were in Prospector, Volume 21, Issue 4 (published in November 2022).

The third featured article, “DESERT” talks about rail action in eastern Utah from the late Mike McLaughlin.
